Customized Diet and Lifestyle Plan

Using the ancient sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda

What does an Ayurvedic Health Counselor do?

An Ayurvedic Health Counselor is a professional trained to focus on “preventive healthcare”, as well as health promotion with a specific focus on diet and lifestyle through traditional Ayurvedic medical science principles and practices. They can access a client’s unique constitution (prakruti) and imbalances (vikruti) and offer guidance to restore balance through the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and yoga sciences.

An Ayurvedic Health Counselor will educate you about the “3 Causes of Disease '' and how dinacharya and rtucharya; daily and seasonal self care can help prevent disease and promote longevity. They will offer guidance and support on the “3 Pillars of Health'' which for Ayurveda are : Ahara (diet) - Nidra (sleep) - Brahmacharya (energy management / activity).  You will gain knowledge about your unique constitution and how to live your life more wisely.

What you should expect from an Ayurvedic Health Consultation

  • In our first session we will focus on your health history, your current state of being including physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. We will go over your primary health goals. We will examine your lifestyle habits, diet, sleep, and stress management. To further understand your current state of health, a tongue analysis may take place, nail examination and discussion of your elimination patterns. A personalized daily routine will be then created for your unique health plan. You fill out the Ayurveda Intake Form prior to our consultation.

  • About a month (4-6 weeks) after our initial consultation, it is an ideal time to have a 45 min follow up. We will assess how the diet and lifestyle recommendations worked for you. Any improvements and changes that took place by implementing new routines, foods and herbs in your lifestyle. Based on your progress, you will be provided with additional recommendations. These recommendations are based on your personal needs, interests and lifestyle.

  • According to Ayurveda, disease or imbalance happens at the junction, change, or gap of a season.  Some people may experience allergy symptoms, or drop in energy levels or digestive issues. One of the 3 causes of disease according to Ayurveda is parinama and one of the threefold miseries for human kind according to yogic philosophy is adhidaivika; they both relate to temporal and external factors, like seasonal changes. Also apart from seasonal imbalances, health imbalances take time to develop. It takes patience and commitment to unwind years of improper diet and lifestyle. Having the guidance of an experienced ayurvedic practitioner monthly or seasonally can help you understand and better incorporate Ayurvedic principles in your life. There are 2 options available:  a)individual follow up or b) package of 4 seasonal.
